Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Jobiit Technologies Ltd ("Jobiit", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on jobiit.com (the "Website"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how you use it, and improve your experience.
How we use cookies
We use a limited number of cookies, grouped into three categories:
Necessary cookies
These are essential for the Website to function. They cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
jobiit_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie preferences (which categories you accepted or rejected) | 1 year |
Analytics cookies
These help us understand how visitors use the Website so we can improve it. They are only set if you consent.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics (via Firebase) | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics (via Firebase) | Maintains session state | 2 years |
We use Firebase Analytics (powered by Google Analytics) to collect anonymous, aggregated data about page views, session duration, and general usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics cookies.
Marketing cookies
These help us measure advertising performance and reach the right people through retargeting. They are only set if you consent.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta Pixel | First-party browser identifier used for ad targeting and measurement | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta Pixel | Click ID set when a visitor arrives via a Facebook or Instagram ad | 90 days |
_ga_* | Google Tag (forthcoming) | Google Ads conversion attribution and audience building | 24 months |
_gcl_au | Google Tag (forthcoming) | Google Ads click ID used for cross-device measurement | 90 days |
We use Meta Pixel to understand the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram advertising and to build retargeting audiences. The _fbp and _fbc cookies are first-party (set on the jobiit.com domain), but the events they accompany — page views and standard interactions — are transmitted to Meta. We do not enable Meta's Automatic Advanced Matching, so we do not send hashed contact details (email, phone, name) through the pixel.
We also plan to enable Google Tag (gtag.js) with Google Ads Enhanced Conversions in a forthcoming release for the same purpose — measuring ad effectiveness across Google search and YouTube and building retargeting audiences. The _ga_* and _gcl_au cookies will be set by Google Tag only if you have already accepted marketing cookies. They are listed here pre-emptively so the disclosure is in place before the rollout. As with Meta, no plain-text contact details are sent — Enhanced Conversions hash any contact details with SHA-256 client-side before transmission.
Your choices
When you first visit the Website, a cookie banner will ask for your consent. You can:
- Accept all — enables analytics and marketing cookies
- Reject all — only necessary cookies are used
- Manage preferences — choose which categories to allow
You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your cookies and revisiting the site, which will show the banner again.
Browser settings
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are set
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all sites
- Set preferences for first-party vs third-party cookies
Note: blocking necessary cookies may affect how the Website functions.
Third parties
Cookies and similar technologies on this Website transmit data to the following providers, only when you consent to the relevant category:
- Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd — analytics cookies via Firebase Analytics, and (when rolled out) marketing cookies via Google Tag / Google Ads Enhanced Conversions. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (and Meta Platforms Inc., US, as joint controller) — marketing cookies via Meta Pixel. Privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy.
While _fbp and _fbc are first-party cookies under the jobiit.com domain, the data transmitted through them goes to Meta. Transfers to Meta Platforms Inc. in the United States rely on the EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses included in Meta's Data Processing Terms.
We do not sell data collected through cookies to any third party.
Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent changes were made. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
