THE JOBIIT GUARANTEE — TERMS

Last updated: May 26, 2026

Last updated: May 26, 2026

Things rarely go wrong when you book through Jobiit — but if something isn't right, we're here to help. Every job paid for in full through the Jobiit platform is covered by our free, discretionary Jobiit Guarantee.

If a Jobiit trader's workmanship falls short and they can't put it right, you can ask us to step in. We'll review what happened, look at the evidence, and where the Guarantee applies, contribute up to €500 toward getting things sorted.

The full terms below set out who is eligible, what's covered, what isn't, and how to claim. Have a read — and if you're not sure whether your situation qualifies, message us in the Jobiit app or email hello@jobiit.com.

1. WHAT IT IS

The Jobiit Guarantee is a free, discretionary commitment by Jobiit Technologies Limited ("Jobiit", "we", "us", "our") to contribute up to €500 toward putting right Sub-Standard Work performed by a Jobiit trader on a job that was paid for through the Jobiit platform.

This is not a contract of insurance. It does not replace your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 or any other applicable consumer-protection law, and it does not affect any rights you may have against the trader directly.

2. DEFINITIONS

In these Terms, the following definitions apply:

  • "Sub-Standard Work" — workmanship that materially falls below the standard a competent member of the relevant trade would deliver, or below what was specifically agreed in the accepted Quote.
  • "Covered Job" — a job posted on Jobiit where the customer paid the trader's invoice in full through the Jobiit platform via Stripe.
  • "Household" — the customer account and any other accounts linked to the same primary residential address.
  • "Quote" — a priced proposal submitted by a Jobiit trader and accepted by the customer through the Jobiit app.
  • "Trader Terms of Use" — the terms of use applicable to Jobiit traders, available at https://jobiit.com/legal/trader-terms.

3. ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to claim under this Guarantee, all of the following must be true:

(a) You are the customer named on the Jobiit account that posted the job.

(b) The job is a Covered Job — the trader's invoice was paid in full through Jobiit. Off-platform or partly off-platform payments are not eligible.

(c) The work was performed by a Jobiit trader you engaged via a Quote accepted inside the Jobiit app, at the property address recorded against that job in the Jobiit app. Claims relating to a different address, or to follow-on work carried out at another property, are not eligible.

(d) You raised the issue with Jobiit within 6 months of the trader marking the job complete. Claims raised after the 6-month window are not eligible, regardless of when the defect became apparent.

(e) You first gave the trader a reasonable opportunity to put the work right and they refused, failed to respond within 14 days, or were unable to resolve the issue.

(f) You hold a customer account in good standing — no outstanding chargebacks, no terms violations, and not subject to an active fraud investigation.

(g) If an inspection is needed to assess the work, you allow reasonable access to the property for Jobiit or an independent expert acting on our behalf. Unreasonable refusal of access may end the claim.

4. WHAT IS COVERED

The reasonable cost of putting Sub-Standard Work right, capped at €500 per claim, contributing toward either:

(a) a partial or full refund of the original invoice; or

(b) the cost of remedial work performed by another Jobiit trader.

5. WHAT IS NOT COVERED

The Guarantee does not cover:

  • Wear and tear, cosmetic preferences, or disagreements about design or style
  • Materials you supplied yourself
  • VAT, call-out fees, surveys, or knock-on losses (e.g. damaged contents, loss of use, lost earnings, sentimental value)
  • Damage caused by you, a third party, or pre-existing conditions
  • Issues you were aware of before paying the invoice and chose to accept
  • Anything already covered by the trader's own insurance, a manufacturer warranty, or another guarantee — claim there first
  • Deposits or partial payments where the job is incomplete (raise as a dispute inside the app instead)
  • Jobs where you have already received a refund, chargeback, or compensation equal to or greater than the loss
  • Quotes you accepted off-platform or work outside the original Quote scope

6. CAPS AND FREQUENCY

  • €500 maximum per claim.
  • One paid or rejected claim per Household per rolling 12 months — a full 12 months must have passed since any previous claim has either been paid out or rejected.
  • No customer excess.

7. HOW TO CLAIM

(a) Contact the trader through the Jobiit app and give them 14 days to remediate.

(b) If the issue is not resolved, contact us through in-app chat or by emailing hello@jobiit.com with the subject "Guarantee Claim — [Job ID]".

(c) Provide: the Job ID, dated photos or video of the issue, copies of in-app messages with the trader, the paid invoice, and a description of the loss.

(d) Jobiit will investigate, contact the trader, and reach a decision within 30 days. We may request additional evidence. Each claim is reviewed on its individual merits. Jobiit alone decides whether a claim is paid, the amount paid (up to the €500 cap), and how it is paid. Jobiit's decision is final and not subject to appeal, arbitration, or external review. This does not affect your statutory rights against the trader (see Section 9).

(e) Independent experts: Where appropriate, Jobiit may instruct an independent surveyor, assessor, or claims handler to help review the work or the claim. Any such expert supports our assessment, but the final decision remains with Jobiit.

(f) Approved claims are paid by SEPA transfer within 14 days of the decision.

8. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE TRADER

Where Jobiit pays out under this Guarantee, the trader who performed the work agrees (under the Trader Terms of Use) that Jobiit may recover the paid amount, plus reasonable administrative costs, by debiting the trader's Stripe Connect balance, deducting from future payouts, or invoicing them as a debt due. See the Trader Terms of Use for the full mechanism.

A guarantee payout also triggers a review of the trader's account and may result in suspension or removal from the platform under Section 9 of the Trader Terms of Use.

9. DISCRETIONARY NATURE & LEGAL STATUS

This Guarantee is a free, discretionary commitment by Jobiit and is not a contract of insurance.

Jobiit decides at its sole and absolute discretion whether a claim qualifies for payment under this Guarantee, what amount (if any) is paid (up to the €500 cap), and how that amount is paid. Jobiit's decision is final and binding for the purposes of this Guarantee and is not subject to appeal, arbitration, or external review.

Nothing in this Guarantee limits or replaces your statutory rights against the trader under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 or any other applicable consumer-protection law — you remain free to pursue the trader directly through the courts or any other available route.

Limit on Jobiit's liability: For the avoidance of doubt, Jobiit is not responsible for any loss, damage, or expense linked to the issue — whether direct, indirect, or consequential (including loss of income, inability to use part of your home, distress, or costs arising from delay). Where Jobiit makes a payment under this Guarantee, the maximum total amount Jobiit will pay in respect of a single claim is €500.

Misuse: Where a claim is fraudulent, exaggerated, or made in bad faith, or where this Guarantee is otherwise misused, Jobiit may decline the claim and refuse any future requests under this Guarantee from the same customer or Household. Jobiit may also report fraudulent claims to the relevant authorities.

Personal information: Personal data you provide in connection with a claim is processed in accordance with Jobiit's Privacy Policy. The legal basis for processing claim data is our legitimate interest in operating the Guarantee and, where applicable, our legal obligations.

10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. The courts of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under or in connection with this Guarantee.

11. CHANGES TO THIS GUARANTEE

We may amend or withdraw this Guarantee at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email and posted to this page with an updated "Last updated" date.

The version of these Terms in effect at the time the trader marked the job complete is the version that applies to your claim. Changes to these Terms do not affect claims that Jobiit has already approved for payment at the time the change takes effect.
